PERSPECTIVE

Our solar system has 8 planets.

Our galaxy has 200,000,000,000 (two hundred billion)planets according to scientist and astronomers and would take 22.4 years traveling at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second—faster than warp speed on Star Trek’s flag ship, The Enterprise ) to traverse.

The observable universe has according to a professor of astrophysics at The University of Nottingham 2,000,000,000,000( two trillion) galaxies.

When the blues creep into your room, think of the vastness of our known world. Your blues amount to no more than a “hill of beans”.

What is a hill of beans? In colloquial America it is a symbol for something of trifling value, as in expressions like “it ain’t worth a hill of beans”.

Humphrey Bogart, at the end of the film Casablanca, says to Ingrid Bergman, “Ilsa, I’m no good at being noble but it doesn’t take much to see that the problem of three little people don’t amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world”.

Ponder this to get perspective in your life.
