“SALT OF THE EARTH”

Occasionally, in one’s lifetime, they are fortunate to meet a person who exhibits rare qualities. Often these people are referred to as “Salt of the Earth”.

The definition of “Salt of the Earth” in the Cambridge dictionary defines this term as a person
who is very good, honest, reasonable, and not thinking he is special in anyway.

I have known Charlie since high school and even knew him better in the later years of our lives.

Charlie was a true “MENSCH”. (This term is used as a high compliment, implying the rarity and value of that individual's qualities).

This term and its rippling qualities that Charlie projected out in the world was like a rock tossed into a pond.

Ironically, these qualities are the same ones present in the dogs that he
befriended,cared for,and loved.

We will miss you Charlie but rest assured your exemplary life will continue to resonate with all of us.
